In an age when clothes have intensive embroidery, foliage, bold prints, lace, complex drawstrings, and more, keeping up with the trends can occasionally feel overwhelming. However, it’s comforting to know that there’s a style we can always safely fall back on: minimalism.
Of course, just being minimalist in one’s fashion choices isn’t enough – it absolutely has to go hand-in-hand with a sense of style so that it doesn’t look drab.
But I’m an avid believer that all people have style in some fashion or form, and that it’s even more prominent when it’s unique to one’s personal essence. That’s why anyone can pull off minimalist fashion and reap its satisfyingly chic rewards.
That brings us to the main point of this entry: minimalist fashion is glorious in its own right. Put simply, here’s why.
1. Simplicity is immune to trends.
Patterns go in and out of style, but plain and simple never does. What’s irreplaceable can never really lose its core chic, and so the basics will always have some sort of regal standing in the fashion world.
2. It’s artsy in a contemporary manner.
Since minimalism is all the rage these days, plainer styles qualify as highly contemporary fashion. With minimalist fashion, no one really knows if you’re trying to be modern or if you’re just being chill, but it’s marvelously chic either way.
3. Nothing defeats the classics.
Even though it’s contemporary, minimalism is also old school. That’s because it existed each and every single time clothing couldn’t or didn’t want to be extravagant.
As we know, the classics are unbeatable. That’s why nothing slays the way minimalism does.
4. Pulling it together is relatively easy.
This one’s a no-brainer, but you don’t have to work especially hard to create a minimalist look that’s stunning.
As long as you don’t clash colors, and the shapes and sizes of your outfit pieces mesh well, the ensemble more or less fashions itself. In fact, I’d even go so far as to say that the best minimalist outfits are compiled with nothing more than stylish instinct and a few spare minutes.
5. The basics are timeless.
Nothing says extraordinary the way timelessness does, and that’s exactly what minimalism is: timeless. Where trends fail and coordination seems impossible, simplicity is always there to save the day.
Did I mention that minimalism is just plain out fabulous? Well, it is.
Drop the complexity in your style from time to time and rock simplicity instead. Minimalism goes much further than anyone realizes.
